Reboot

A friend picked up a magazine off of my lounge floor over the weekend, she happened upon an article… “what’s happening to your body when you're at emotional rock bottom”. Having recently gone through a break-up, my ears pricked up. The article suggested a good cry - done that. It also said to treat yourself to a facial — well I bought myself a gorgeous velvet blazer as a break-up present, does that count?

It also said to replenish my immune system with plenty of Zinc and Vitamin C. Well, I do not need any encouragement to whip up a mini feast.

So today, I’ve given myself some headspace and done a few things that are nourishing for the soul and body.

Sharing my heart and a croissant over cappuccinos with a friend, I was freshly inspired by the coffee shop’s vision board, pinned on their wall as art; photos, pictures and scribbled notes of the THEN dream, Now a reality. It reminds me that vision always comes first.

There is no time like the present, what was just one thing I could do today? Having decided that I was going to go home and finally publish a blog post, we first took a leisurely walk in the beautiful wide open space of Richmond Park.

At home, freshly inspired and nibbling on a few Zinc-rich cashew nuts, I first made a nutrient packed smoothie with beetroot, pineapple, celery, avocado, banana, carrot, apple and lemon. Nutritious and delicious.

Then a much needed Zinc and Vitamin C containing dinner - roasted butternut, sweet potato, beetroot and broccoli on a bed of spinach with dollops of goats cheese and a sprinkling of pumpkin seeds.

Body exercised and satisfied, mind stimulated and at peace, soul restored and on the mend…

Now for a good nights sleep.
